Welcome to Kiwi Wine Fan Club
Special Announcement. After nearly 11 years of Kiwi Wine Fan Club on the internet, I have made the decision after a long time thinking to close down the website. Wine 'blogging' is a season in my life that has faded. It is a time I have enjoyed, but I just am not tasting the quantity of wines anymore, or feeling the motivation to make this a 'hobby' that is worthwhile continuing.
Other interests have come along demanding my time, care and money. Whether that be hiking, climbing, running or kids. I will still enjoy and have opinion on wine but now not so publicly. Perhaps this is just a part of making some things more important, and some things less important within a 24 hour day.
I am not quite sure when site hosting is up for renewal (I will have to ask Dave, I think it over the coming few months), but our subscription will not be renewed. As such, we also will no longer be accepting any wines for tasting/review from wineries.
So please grab all the content you may wish to refer to in the future while you can (man we have had some good tastings over the years!)
Thanks must go to our small bunch of regular readers. Many thanks also to the handful of wineries who we love the most (you know who you are). Thank-you for your support, thank your favour whenever we meet. We will still be your biggest fans, we will still buy your wine, and still recommend yours, our favourite drops, to others. |

Unison Selection Vertical. In the planning now is a look at one of the labels we have followed from conception. We are hoping to include all 10 vintages once the 07 is released. Everyone seems slow to release new vintages in this economic climate. Unison is no different! |

2009 Riverby Estate Noble Riesling. Riverby Estate sent us some wines to try which we will write up very soon. However this was the standout wine among them for us. It is exciting "wow" wine completely! It is well priced at $25 and is of exquisite quality. Fans of dessert style wines should tuck a few of these away to impress at a dinner party, though i doubt one bottle is excess for two people! This is the most exciting new find for us in the sweet wine category for a long time. Click Here for our review |
