2005 John Forrest Collection Noble Riesling. This is an absolutely stunning wine with the rare texture of great Sauternes. Silky satin texture as a bass note to gorgeous clean peach, pineapple and stone fruit. Fantastic length. A beguilling wine. At WineNZ we marked it hard at 98/109 which was the top mark we dished out over 250 wines tried over 2 days. This wine is clearly greater than the NZIWS trophy winning 2006 Forrest Estate Botrytised Riesling, and comparing it to the 2006 Pegasus Bay Aria Riesling we will upgrade our score to 102/109
Rare, expensive but in this case it delivers something special.
