2007 Pegasus Bay Riesling. This is one of our all time favourite Riesling labels. It always offers scintillating flavours that light up every corner of the mouth. This new release is at a slightly more linear and elegant place than it predecessors. It is more refined and unobtrusive. The nose still jumps out of the glass though. There is passionfruit curd, mandarin, white peach and wafts of manuka honey. The palate is finely boned and focussed offering up flavours of white peach, tangelo, pink grapefruit and dustings of sherbet. It displays a gentle icing sugar like texture and continues onto a soft and gentle finish. There is some clever restraint in this wine and although it keeps the Pegasus Bay flavour profile it moves into a more elegant, restrained and refined frame. 97/109
