We have had many requests for a section that highlights a buy of the week for those just looking on stocking up on weekend drinkers from the supermarket or alternatively perhaps those looking to purchase a notable new release at the best possible price. This section will be updated by the Tuesday of each week with the best deals from the market. Please be aware most of us live in Auckland so we might not get total coverage all the time. We are not associated with any retailer and tips are purely on merit and fancy

Buy of the Week: The recession seems to be biting with many cut price deals flooding the inbox every week. Beware, so much of it is just stuff that was overpriced in the first place - what we would term "who cares" wines. However there is the odd good buy among them so eyes open!!

Foodtown/ Woolworths/ Countdown $14.99 this week ($12.99 at Milford Countdown) 2007 Villa Maria Cellar Selection Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon

For cheap fizz keep an eye out for Lindauer Special Reserve Blanc de Blancs, going for $10-12 on special it is hard to beat.

Fine Wine Delivery Company still is Pushing the 2008 Gravatis Pinot Noir which is a smart buy at around $16.50.  A bit more real Pinot at a price point where it often is a struggle to even pick the wine as Pinot!

If spending a little more it is hard to look past 2007 Craggy Range Block 14 Syrah or 2007 Church Rd Reserve Syrah
