2007 Carrick Josephine Riesling. One of many excellent Rieslings from Central Otago stables. This wine has a pretty nose of icing sugar, confectionary shop, and sweet citrus. The palate is almost dainty. It is medium sweet but delicate detailed and defined with sugar syrup, fine citrus and sherbet. There are hints of citrus peal as well. A delightful wine which I could find only one fault with really. The flavour does seem to fall away in the mouth a little prematurely. This is the only element which prevents it getting a higher score, but in the end it doesn’t really affect its enjoyment for anyone but technocrats. 93/109
