2007 Ata Rangi Pinot Noir. This is a vintage of Ata Rangi that has avoided me for a while. I have read varying reports. However today in a line up of top Pinot Noir, it certainly showed its worth. It perhaps isn’t quite as deep set and restrained as the 2006 vintage but it is still pretty compact, well constructed and highly textural with layer of perfectly honed dark plum like fruit augmented by sweet spice.
