 2008 Julicher Pinot Noir. This is the top trophy winner from Air NZ this year so a recommendation from me is hardly going to add much weight to the world. However I have to note this year that the quality of the wines in the trophy circle is outstanding. This wine I purchased for $36 and frankly is a bargain. It has all the bells and whistles of a wine twice that price. It is quite a deep colour in the glass. The nose is fragrant with integrated notes of dark cherry, cocoa and fine spices. The palate is restrained, ultra fine and beautifully woven seamlessly. There is a substance to this wine too as deep dark dark cherry and spice; exotic flavours roll through the palate. A stunning wine of the highest quality. 100/109
