2007 Kumeu River Coddington Chardonnay. It has been too long since a new release of Kumeu River’s chardonnays. This wine underlined the fact that the last two vintages of Kumeu river have just been brilliant. Such class, definition and precision have magnified in this label lately. A gorgeous minerally lemon chardonnay, gorgeous fruit, tight, focused and highly aromatic. The oak handling is a sensation sitting as support only to the fruit. A magnificent refreshing wine that actually looks as though it could cellar very, very well with its bright acidity and exacting detail. A class above. 98/109
